Painting the Trompe L'Oeil in the Boardroom

This is the beginning of the boardroom Aurora mural.

One day later and a bit more is done!

Painting the Trompe L'Oeil masterpiece on the wall of their boardroom. The frame is painted on the wall too! Here Jacqueline is just finishing off sponging the frame on.

Jacqui puts finishing touches on the red gecko on the side wall.

The Mother of all Geckos

The biggest gecko of all, the one we decided to call "the mother of all geckos" was - a 6 metre, 3-panel mural to be mounted overhead in the stairwell.

Jacqueline started by tracing a huge outline of the design onto paper. This was then transferred with carbon paper onto the 3 panels.

Here Jacqueline is painting the first of the three panels.

Jacqui puts the final dots on Mother.

The Mother of all geckos needed a team of builders to mount it up above a steep gap in the stairwells

Here it is finished, 6 metres of giant gecko guarding the stairwell!

Stencilling the smaller geckos

Here is Jacqui up the ladder stencilling the next gecko. Each gecko has 7 colours and involved a lot of fine line work. Jacqui cut the timber stencil from a piece of MDF (Craftwood) using a jig saw. It took 3 hours to draw and cut the stencil.

The final one of 4 identical blue geckos, one painted in each of the 4 main sales offices. Part of the job was to add professional gold lettering for the company name above the logo.
