As well as painting pet portraits, I’ll happily paint portraits of people too – whether it is to honour a special person, or to remember a magical wedding day.
John was so happy with his previous “Deep Forest” painting commission, that he secretly commissioned me to paint their children for his wife Lorraine’s 40th birthday. When the painting was unveiled at the party under the marquee, she lost her place in her speech and had to grab for a tissue for the tears, she was so overwhelmed and happy! Afterwards John sent me a message:
I found a wall for the portrait and hung it ready for when the kids and Lorraine returned.
I’ll let you into a secret: I felt quite emotional as I stepped back and admired your creation. Obviously we have photos but they evoke a different reaction. Perhaps it is the significance of the present and the response it brought from Lorraine and the guests. I think it is something more than that though and the title of your business provides the key.
That painting brings alive so much of our lives at present: where we live, our kids who have become so interwoven into our lives at the age they are now which capturing them at the time when Mum becomes even more fabulous and forty! I have never thought about it before but I wondered how my mother who passed away some years ago would have reacted to seeing her grandchildren brought to life through the oil on canvas.
Now the party is over and there is time to reflect I wanted to share with you what your talent brings to wherever your work appears. You truly do bring art to the heart.
Let me know if you are interested in a portrait of a special person. I am happy to help!
