Picasso was a Spanish artist and co-founded the Cubist movement. His talent was recognised at a young age and he created tens of thousands of artworks in his lifetime. He was very flexible, working in a range of styles depending on what suited his subject and message.

About Picasso
Born in Spain on 25th October 1881, Pablo Ruiz Picasso was a hugely inflencial artist and also co-founded the cumbism art movement.
His talent was recognised from a young age and his work evolved through several different stytles in his lifetime. Some of his most well-known pieces are from his cubism exporations of shape.
But he was also known as a troublemaker and was even accused of stealing the “Mona Lisa” from the Louvre, although was later cleared of suspicion. While living in Nazi-occupied Paris he continued his art, using smuggled bronze for his sculptures.
The Musei Picasso in Barcelona features many of the artist;s works, particularily his early works created while he still lived in Spain.
