About Warhol
Any Warhol was born on 6th August 1928 and lived through some of America’s greatest cultural and social movements until he passed away on 22nd February 1987.
Starting out as a commercial illustrator, he began to receive recognition for his art in late 1950s. He lead the pop art movement with silkscreen paintings featuring bold colours, simple shapes and branding. Warhol pushed the boundaries of art, particularily its intercection with media and advertising.
His studio was known as a place you could find distinguished intelectuals, drag queens, Bohemian street people and Hollywood celebrities.
